Mesoamerican Ballgame

On this website, explore what you like.  Then go to Explore Game and click on Ball, Uniform, Court, and Game.  After reading about these essential parts of the Mesoamerican Ballgame, go to the iPad app American Art and view the following artifacts.

Investigate American Art

Picture
Take a look at the two Ballplayer Figures, the Ceremonial Ball Game, the Hacha, the Rabbit Hacha, and the two Yokes.

Activity:

After viewing the Mesoamerican Ballgame website and the various artifacts left over from this time period, you must create your own such ballgame and uniform.   You must include a description of each part of the uniform and the rules that accompany your game.  The outcome of the game can be the same as the Mesoamerican Ballgame, but it cannot be any more graphic than the original website.  Create your own Weebly to display your ballgame to the classroom!  A rubric will be provided for you to follow.
